This route takes place in the South of the city, where we will appreciate the arts and crafts from two different towns; San Bartolo Coyotepec and San Martín Tilcajete. But if you are a food lover and if you do not care the crowd, The Friday market in Ocotlán de Morelos is for you.

* San Bartolo Coyotepec + San Martín Tilcajete

The activities to do on this trip are the followings:
First,  I will meet you in the center of the city. Next, we will depart on the trip toward San Bartolo Coyotepec. In this place we will visit a family who has used for many years a prehispanic technique to make beautiful pieces of black pottery. A family member will explain you and show you about the pottery. According to this, you have the option to make your own piece at the workshop during one hour with the help of the artisan. This activity has an extra fee of $50 mexican pesos, which is paid to the artisan for the material used that you can take home. If you would like to have this activity you need to book it 3 days before the day and with the 2 persons minimum.
Then, we will visit San Martín Tilcajete, the community is known for its production of Alebrijes; fantastical and mystical figures carved on woods representing the magical realism and the oaxacan artisan creativity. A family member will show you and explain you everything about Alebrijes since the meaning, the wood needed, the process, the gallery full of finish Alebrijes. As most artisans support their families with the sale they do, you can help them by buying their products in a cheaper cost that you can find them outside in the stores.

Then, I will drive you to the Friday market in Ocotlán de Morelos, where the experience to live is totally different. It is a place full of colors, smells and tastes. People from different communities go to sell their own products in a cheap cost, so that you can purchase arts and crafts, typical clothing, basketry, flowers, fresh vegetables, etc. Besides, there is a wide variety of food to taste. Nonetheless the distance, it it visited by locals and tourists.
