Cooking classes from the Isthmus with a Tehuana
Hi l’m Betsaida originally from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, I want to invite you to my house to get to know and cook food from the Isthmus, which is part of the Oaxacan gastronomy. I’ll teach you to cook the most traditional & outstanding dishes that l’ve learnt through generations in my family. It’s no necessary to have cooking skills, but come ready to get fun, cook and eat.
Firstly, we’ll meet on a specific point, we’ll go to a local market to get the freshest ingredients that we’ll cook according to the days menu. Then, we’ll go to my house where I’ll teach you to make all the dishes from start to end. After that, we’ll eat & enjoy together all the food we cooked, we’ll enjoy it with artisanal mezcales, fresh waters, beers, mezcal cocktails. At the end of the class I’ll drop you off to the same place where we met up.

AMAZING!
There are many cooking classes — but this is the one to do! We took a class with our 20 year old son, and it was a highlight of our trip to Oaxaca! After selecting our menu, Betsaida took us to local market to pick the freshest ingredients for the day. We then went to her state of the art kitchen, and we prepared an authentic Oaxacan meal that was amazing – who knew how complicated a mole could be!

‘VE EVER TAKEN!
This food tour was the best! Betsida was an absolutely amazing tour guide. We stopped at food carts and markets. We tried so many different foods, fruits, and drinks that were all delicious! She also gave us information as we walked from place to place on the history and culture of the area, its people and the food. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed!

Wow! what an experience. The whole process was amazing and Betsaida was so kind and welcoming and wonderful. We started at the market and picked up the raw ingredients and then went to her place where she had a beautiful and open kitchen and we got to make some of the best food we had in Oaxaca. 10/10 experience and would definitely recommend
